Meet the 2020 CHNA Board

Angie Conner, President –

Native-Floridian Angie Conner moved to Crescent Heights in 2006, with her Florida- and St. Pete-native husband Trey and their two children, Odessa and Aeden. Angie was born and raised on the Space Coast; she met her husband in Gainesville, Florida, where she attended The Florida School of Massage and was heavily involved in Gainesville’s indie-rock music scene (you might find a cassette or two floating around out there with her on it, or you might find her singing on a double LP if you look hard enough). Shortly after their daughter was born they moved to State College, Pennsylvania. While there, Angie earned a bachelor’s degree in Labor Studies and Industrial Relations with a minor in Dispute Management & Conflict Resolution; simultaneously, she completed a master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources – all with honors and distinction from Penn State University. More importantly, while there, son Aeden was born. From 2006 to 2018, Angie was involved with multiple boards in the public and private school system in St. Petersburg – from PTSA and SAC, to theater and swim booster clubs. Angie has enjoyed an eclectic array of service-industry careers (including front-of-house restaurant work, caterer, baker, pastry chef, and massage therapist); in 2007 she began a career with a federal agency, and currently serves as a policy analyst. Angie enjoys good music, good food, family and friends, baking tasty treats, walking her dogs, thrift-shopping, and taking care of her sweet mom with the help of her supportive family. Cheers!!

Bill Richkus, Treasurer –

Bill and his wife, Sharon Dubble, moved to their 29th Ave. N. home from their decades-long home in Catonsville, MD in 2017.  With a Ph.D. in Oceanography, specializing in fisheries biology, Bill worked as an environmental consultant for a nation-wide consulting firm for over 40 years, heading up local, state and federal environmental projects before retiring in 2014.   Some of the types of studies he managed included the environmental assessment of power plant impacts, Chesapeake Bay ecology, and fisheries management planning.  Bill is an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter, with a side-line hobby of taxidermy, and also authors the Nature Watch South column for the CHNA Newsletter.   Bill and Sharon are supporters of the Dali Museum, Freefall Theater, Museum of Fine Art, James Museum, Warehouse Arts District, Ducks Unlimited, and Preserve the Burg, among other non-profits.  They have two daughters, one living in Kenwood and the other in Framingham, MA.

Lois Conger, Secretary

Lois and her husband, Rod, moved to Crescent Heights in 2014 from Seminole, Florida where they raised their two daughters. After living in a townhouse a couple years on 24th Ave, they decided they loved the neighborhood, but wanted a single-family home again and are now happily re-established on 27th Ave. Lois is the Operations Manager/Compliance Officer for ARS Wealth Advisors and has been in the financial services industry for close to 20 years. She has also been a very active volunteer with Pinellas County Schools in various areas for over 28 years. Rod and Lois enjoy traveling, working on beautifying their landscaping (continuous work in progress), and spending time with their family and friends. Lois is looking forward to serving on the CHNA board, meeting more neighbors and making new friendships along the way.

Sylvia Raymond, Newsletter Editor

Sarah Suits, Social Media Editor

Sarah, a St. Pete resident since 2004, moved to Crescent Heights in 2011 after falling in love with its charm, convenience and neighborly support. She has way too much fun at work as a Senior Producer for a large advertising agency in Tampa. Sullivan, her son and Sean, her husband, keep busy finding new places to explore around the Bay area. When passing by their house, you’ll be greeted by their two Boston Terriers, PollyEster Suits and Three Piece Suits.

Jennifer Wright, Immediate Past President

Looking to escape cold, gray winters, Jen moved from Grand Rapids, Michigan to sunny Saint Pete in 2009. She previously served on the Board of CHNA as both Membership Director and First Vice President before taking some time off from volunteer work to obtain her master’s degree at the University of Central Florida. Jen rejoined the CHNA Board on January 1, 2018 and served as President for two years. She technically makes use of her English degree on a work-week basis, and in her spare time enjoys play with her two dogs, Arf and Ella. Jen loves the close-knit community in Crescent Heights, along with the mature oak trees and brick-lined streets. There is no where else in Florida that she would rather be!
