Shopping Resources During Social Distancing

Hello Neighbors!

We know that you may be having difficulties getting food and supplies while keeping yourselves safe and healthy. So here are a few local resources to help you obtain what you need with minimal exposure.

“Starting March 24, shoppers exclusively ages 65 or older will be able to shop at all Publix grocery stores on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7-8 a.m. The stores’ pharmacies will also open at 7 a.m. for seniors.”*

“Beginning Wednesday, March 18, Target will reserve the first hour of shopping each Wednesday at stores nationwide for vulnerable guests – including elderly and those with underlying health concerns.”*

“We know our older customers could be more vulnerable to the coronavirus and to better support them, Walmart is offering special shopping hours. From March 24 through April 28, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This will start one hour before the store opens. Our Pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open during this time.”*

“Special shopping hours for seniors from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Monday through Friday.”*

CHNA Operation Mural Beautification

CALL FOR ARTISTS:

To support the beautification of our neighborhood and community, the CHNA is in need of two visual artists to support the “Operation Mural Beautification” project commencing October 2016.

The mural walls are located at (Wall 1) 2312 4th St N – North Side & (Wall 2) 2601 9th St N -South Side. The CHNA has budgeted $6,000 per wall to include artist compensation, supplies and (1) boom lift.

Selected artists will be chosen based on previous experience and vision for the project. Artists will work closely with the CHNA Mural Beautification Committee on development of the project to ensure timeliness and agreement on the project look and feel.

We are requesting the following information from interested artists submitted to president@mychna.org :

  • A portfolio of examples sharing at least (3) mural projects
  • The artists vision for the project (either in words or visually expressed)

Key considerations include:

– Nature, History, Interaction, Crescent Moon, Orange Grove, Crescent Lake Park, Community, Family, Trees, Porches, Water, Neighborhood Love, Time Lapse

Artists application due November 30th 2016.

Once we receive the following, we will select (6) artists to the next CHNA Committee meeting to discuss and present their vision and portfolio experience.

The (2) selected artists will then work alongside with the CHNA on the project execution.

Expected wall painting to commence Q1 of 2017.

Thank you in advance for your interest in the CHNA Mural Beautification Project.
